Email Validator by MGLogics – User Guide
This app helps merchants automatically validate customer email addresses used during checkout and on orders. It prevents fake or suspicious emails, reduces fraud, and ensures order accuracy.
1. Dashboard Overview
When you open the app, the Dashboard gives you a quick summary of the app’s activity and status.
Key Sections:
App Status
Shows whether email validation is Enabled or Disabled.
Click Enable to activate the validation system.
Emails Validated
Displays the total number of email addresses validated so far.
Monthly Limit
Shows your plan’s monthly email validation limit (e.g., 300 emails per month).
Usage
Shows how many validations you have used in the current billing month.
Percentage bar helps you track monthly usage at a glance.
Quick Actions
You can toggle specific features from the bottom of the Dashboard.
1. Custom Tags on Orders
When enabled, the app automatically adds a custom tag to orders that contain a suspicious email.
Helps staff quickly identify risky orders.
Click Enable to activate.
2. Email Alert
Sends you an internal email alert whenever a suspicious customer email is detected.
Click Enable to receive alerts.
Note: You can enable either Custom Tags on Orders or Email Validation on Checkout, but not both at the same time.
3. Email Validation Banner (Checkout Error Message)
Found under: Feature Settings → Email Validation Banner
This section allows you to customize the error message displayed to customers when they enter a suspicious or invalid email during checkout.
Fields:
Error Message Heading
Main title of the error message.
Example: Email Verification Required
Error Message
Detailed explanation shown to the customer.
Example: The email appears to be invalid. An OTP has been sent to your email for manual verification.
Click Save after updating the text.
4. Custom Tag Settings
Found under: Feature Settings → Custom Tag Settings
If you enable the “Custom Tags on Orders” feature, this is where you specify the tag that will be applied to suspicious orders.
Your Custom Tag
Enter any tag name of your choice.
Example: Customer Email Address is Suspicious
Click Save to apply.
5. Pricing
The Pricing menu shows your current plan, monthly email validation limit, and upgrade options. This helps you manage your usage according to your store’s order volume.
6. How the App Works (Summary)
Customer enters an email at checkout.
The app validates the email in real time.
If the email is suspicious:
A custom error message shows (if the checkout validation feature is enabled)
OR
A custom tag is added to the order
You choose which method you prefer from the Dashboard.
7. Best Practices
Enable email validation during checkout to block fake emails immediately.
If you don’t want to interrupt checkout flow, enable Custom Tags so staff can manually review suspicious orders.
Regularly check your Usage to stay within the monthly limit.
